There are some animals that seem to look straight into your soul aren't there.
Kindred Spirit is a painting about connection. That quiet, almost unspoken feeling of recognising something familiar in another living being. Strength, gentleness, curiosity, wisdom… and perhaps a little bit of ourselves.
Gorillas have always fascinated me, and this one feels particularly special. He takes me right back to my childhood memories of living near Longleat safari park and the famous gorilla Nico, who lived on gorilla island.
I wanted to capture more than just his likeness. I wanted to capture that soulful expression, the feeling that, for a moment, you’ve made a connection with another spirit.
Painted in vibrant acrylics, Kindred Spirit is bold, characterful and full of presence. It is a painting that can bring a little wildness into your home, but also a reminder that connection can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places.
Originally painted on a large 1.0 x 1.2 metre canvas, this already much-loved artwork is now available in a selection of print sizes. Choose from beautifully reproduced giclée fine art prints or stunning gallery-quality ready-to-hang canvases.
I believe artwork should be treasured for years to come, which is why I only work with premium materials and trusted professional printers and framers. Every piece is produced with exceptional care, allowing the rich colours, detail and personality of "Kindred Spirit" to shine in your home for many years ahead.
Every print begins as one of my original paintings and is professionally produced with the same care, attention, and love that went into creating the artwork itself.
